SISS-Geo: A Powerful Tool for Disease Prevention in Wildlife
SISS-Geo is an Android application that supports the creation of disease alert models from georeferenced observations of animals, especially those with the potential to affect humans. Developed by Serviços e Informações do Brasil, this free app is a lightweight (± 5MB) solution for recording observations quickly and efficiently, whether online or offline.
The app allows users to register and become collaborators in the system, submitting information about animals, their location, environment, and photos. Additionally, users can access all their records and photos, as well as view the location of all records. The app also allows users to send suggestions, questions, and criticisms directly to the system.
In partnership with the National Laboratory of Scientific Computing (LNCC), SISS-Geo integrates with the Wildlife Health Information Center (CISS) of the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation, contributing to the construction of a public utility system for disease prevention in animals and humans.
